Over the past couple of months I have a written a couple of articles of how the mobile platform is quickly pressing to be the platform of the future and will change the game in the business technology realm (Smart Phone Estimates Explode, Game Changers). This market is currently booming even in the face of economic slowdown.
So, it appears that a new player has also jumped into the game. Toshiba has released the TG01 smart phone (Toshiba shows off TG01 smartphone). Toshiba claims that it will compete with the iPhone in this arena. It uses Windows Mobile 6.1.
If this product is even close to what it is being described as it brings a new player into the market but even more importantly (in my opinion) brings Microsoft to the ball. If Microsoft truly gets into the realm to compete with the iPhone, Blackberries, Google, and possibly Palm things will get interesting. With all the big names playing here you can see that this technology is looking to change the game and looking at some serious innovation in the coming years.
