Like the search function in Twitter? Then you are gonna love TweetGrid!

If don’t have enough information overload in your life already, check out this Twitter application!

I have been saying for awhile now that I love Twitter for what it is, but what I love even more is all of the third-party applications out there that take Twitter even further.  My latest craze is an application called “TweetGrid”.  TweetGrid is a real-time search dashboard for you to stay up on any search criteria you want to follow on Twitter – as it happens!  You can have up to nine different real-time search reporting at once, which is kind of neat to look at but impossible to keep up on if your search topics are popular.  But cool nevertheless!

One of the great things about TweetGrid is that it is a “drive-by” web application, meaning that you do not need to download or install anything to your machine – all you need is a browser.  You also do not need to create an account either.  You only enter your Twitter username and password if you choose to tweet right from TweetGrid, which is a cool feature.  With the direct Twitter access, you are also able to reply, retweet, mark as favorite, and direct message the poster of a tweet in your search stream.

The interface of the actual web application is plain and simple – nothing fancy, but it works and that is most important.  The layout is customizable as well, which makes for a great experience.

The website in general offers a lot of great tips and tutorials on how to use TweetGrid, which is refreshing because not a lot of Twitter-supported sites offer that.  All and all, a great web application that I am getting a lot of use out of!

I probably spend more time in Twitter Search than Twitter itself, but with TweetGrid, I am able to be more productive at it!  This is a must to check out if you are a Twitter fan.

Pros: Real-time search results in a customizable grid format makes searching easy (and fun to watch)

Cons: The interface is kind of plain boring, but it works well

Grade: A-
